The Grand, Folkestone, England (Again!)

A very well-deserved accolade indeed!

In recognition of The Grand, Folkestone‘s inspirational Student Placement Scheme, and of the cooperation between Robert Richardson, General Manager of The Grand, and Katy Tibbles, Careers Coordinator at the Folkestone Academy, The Grand has been short-listed by the Institute of Hospitality for the annual award of “Best Student Placement”.

The Grand, Folkestone, and all other nominees in this category, are to be commended for realising that these young students are the future of the hospitality industry. And for nurturing this future talent, by giving these young people opportunities to gain firsthand experience of working in the hospitality field.

All nominees for the Institute’s “Best Student Placement” award are:

• Concord Hotels
• PPHE Hotel Group
• Hotel Icon
• Harper Adams University
• The RAF Club
• The Grand, Folkestone
• The Ritz, London
• Matharus Group

The award winners will be announced at the annual #IOHAward gala ceremony on Tuesday 19th June 2018, at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London.

The Grand, Folkestone.

While I was still walking, and raising awareness of ataxia (and fundraising for Ataxia UK), The Grand very kindly offered me some pretty amazing support on two separate occasions. First, by very generously donating a fabulous prize for an ataxia fundraising raffle, and later, by personally supporting me when I was en route to a 500-mile charity walk in Spain in 2016.
